Wallara Waters Family Fun Day heralds the opening of the entrance to the estate and the new display village
Wallara Waters in Wallan, last Saturday took on a festive feel with families from surrounding suburbs joining local residents to welcome 11 new builders to the estate.
To herald the launch of the impressive display village, Australand and Mondous Family Property Group held a family fun day giving local kids the opportunity for a final bit of Australia Day revelry before the start of the new school year.
With more than 800 visitors including around 300 children enjoying the fun atmosphere, Wallara Waters - the newest residential hub within their local community - came alive with an array of hospitality and entertainment including the FOX FM Street Team.
From face painting and a clown, to a jumping castle and giant slide, kids had a blast while the adults indulged in a complimentary barbecue and strolling through the spacious surrounds of a striking and notable, emerging community hub.
Even legendary footballers Tommy Hafey and Peter Daicos dropped in accompanied by young Essendon powerhouse, Angus Monfries.
The trio supervised a handball competition that saw winners picking up a range of prizes presented to them by the football celebrities.
The epitome of country life with an abundance of urban style, Wallara Waters is a joint venture residential housing community between Australand and Mondous Family Property Group.
The Wallan community is delighted with the completion of the picturesque entrance comprising a bridge and lake and is revelling in the opportunity to consider moving into a development that blends contemporary urban with loads of rural charm.
In welcoming the new builders to the impressive display village, Australand's Development Director for Victoria, Peter Howren says that Wallara Waters offers prospective buyers the opportunity to leisurely view the home designs on offer and discuss their individual requirements with the builder of their choice.
"A day for the whole family is the ideal setting for visitors to research the home of their dreams while the kids are having fun," says Mr Howren.
"The expert advice on hand was welcomed by all, luring visitors to the possibility of aspiring to live in a new residential precinct with all of the nearby conveniences, charm and character of both Wallan and Wallara Waters," he says.
Ahmed Mahamadu from Roxburgh Park and his two daughters attended for most of the day. "It is terrific to see a small city evolving out in Wallan," says Mr Mahamadu.
Second place getter in the handball competition, Samantha Polkinghorne, says the whole family loves the open spaces. "We love the parks and mum loves the display homes," says the sporty 17-year-old.
"What a magnificent community filled space in which to raise a family," said one young mum as she watched her young toddler enjoying the mini golf.
Visitors to the estate were not deterred by the temperature in the high 30s, preferring to stay on and be a part of the family day.
